The 8EI034HWS10.A000-1 servo drive module is produced by B&R Automation as part of the 8EI Servo Drives series. Located within the ACOPOS P3 8EI servo drive product line, it functions as a compact power stage that converts three-phase supply energy into controlled motor current. In an industrial automation cell, the module executes position, velocity, and torque loops so that a connected servomotor can follow motion profiles dictated by a machine controller. The module is intended for servo applications where accurate response and coordinated motion are required across automated machine sections.
This unit is delivered as a 1-axis module, so a single drive channel handles both power and feedback for one motor. Because only one motor is assigned to the module, output current and feedback resources are dedicated to a single axis rather than shared across multiple channels. During continuous duty, it can supply 34 Aeff, allowing medium-power actuators to run without derating. The input section accepts mains in the range of 3x 200-480 VAC, which aligns with standard factory power systems and simplifies cabinet layout. The unit is intended for wall mounting, with heat sinks facing the cabinet interior while the power terminals remain accessible from the front. For functional safety, the drive integrates hardwired STO safety technology with encoder, enabling immediate torque removal when an external safety relay opens and confirming motor standstill through encoder feedback.
A dedicated plug-in slot supports a Resolver 1x interface, permitting direct connection of resolver transducers when absolute digital encoders are not required. This is useful in installations that rely on rugged analog feedback devices instead of digital encoder protocols. Field wiring is simplified by the presence of Connector Set 1 (1-row), which combines control, logic, and auxiliary circuits in a single row of contacts. The front-access connection layout helps keep control and auxiliary wiring organized inside compact enclosures. Braking energy must be routed to an external resistor because the design includes no internal braking resistor, which helps limit heat inside the module itself.
