The 8EI017HWS10.0S00-1 servo drive module is built by B & R Automation and belongs to the 8EI Servo Drives series. As part of the ACOPOS P3 motion platform, the unit converts three-phase mains power into controlled motor current so that synchronous or induction servo motors can maintain commanded speed and position. By combining current, velocity, and position control loops in one housing, it serves as the central power stage for industrial robots, pick-and-place stations, and high-throughput conveyors that require repeatable motion during rapid acceleration, deceleration, and positioning tasks. This arrangement allows the drive to manage axis response directly within the module while supporting coordinated motion in automated equipment.

It accepts a supply of 3x 200-480 VAC, allowing connection to common low-voltage mains without an autotransformer. During continuous operation, the drive delivers 17 Aeff rms output, which supports motors that require steady torque over extended duty cycles. This output level is suitable for mid-size servo axes used in packaging, handling, and general machine automation. An integrated Hardwired STO circuit linked to the encoder removes motor power directly in the power stage rather than through software alone. The hardware is arranged as a 1-axis module, so one motor channel, one DC-bus interface, and one feedback connector are provided.

Cooling fins and terminal orientation support Wall mounting, which places the heat sink in free air inside a control cabinet and helps keep cable routing straightforward. The designated configuration carries the Standard option, which means that no module-specific features such as regenerative braking stacks are installed. Because there is No plug-in module supplied, fieldbus couplers and additional I/O must be added separately when those interfaces are required by the application.
