The 8EI017HWS10.0600-1 is a servo drive module produced by B & R Automation and assigned to the 8EI Servo Drives series. Positioned within the ACOPOS P3 servo drive platform, the unit acts as the power and control interface between a three-phase mains supply and a servo motor. In industrial automation cells, it executes current, speed, and position regulation so that packaging stations, pick-and-place gantries, or indexing tables follow the motion commands generated by the machine controller. This arrangement lets the drive supply controlled motor current while responding to commands from the higher-level motion system.

It operates from a line supply of 3x 200-480 VAC, which allows the same hardware to be used on 230 V or 400 V plant power grids without transformer adaptation. The inverter can deliver a continuous output of 17 Aeff; this is the RMS phase current that the unit can sustain during continuous operation without exceeding its thermal limit. The chassis is intended for wall mounting, so the heat sink vents directly into the control cabinet aisle and leaves DIN rail space free. For functional safety, the module integrates hardwired STO safety technology with encoder, disconnecting the power stage while supervising feedback position.

The delivered configuration is a 1-axis module and uses the standard build for this model. An integrated internal braking resistor absorbs regenerated energy during rapid deceleration, avoiding an external dump resistor for typical loads. Wiring convenience is supported by a 1-row connector set supplied in the box. There is no plug-in module included, so fieldbus, I/O, or memory cards must be added later if required. That layout suits applications where one drive section is assigned to one motor axis and a compact accessory set is preferred.
