The 8EI017HWD10.0B00-1 is a servo drive module manufactured by B&R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series in the ACOPOS P3 product line. Built as a 2-axis power stage, it supplies regulated motor current to two synchronous motors and exchanges feedback through an encoder interface. The module controls speed, position, and torque so coordinated motion can be maintained on packaging, printing, and material-handling axes. By combining two controlled motor channels in one housing, it supports compact motion systems that require closely coordinated axis behavior. Encoder feedback allows the connected control system to track motor movement accurately during acceleration, deceleration, and position-hold operation.

This unit accepts a three-phase input of 3x 200-480 VAC and can deliver a continuous phase current of 17 Aeff to each connected motor. Protection against unintended restart is provided by hardwired STO safety technology with encoder, which disables the gate signals to the output stage. A front cover shields live parts when the cabinet door is open, helping reduce exposure to energized sections of the drive. The unit has no internal braking resistor, so braking energy must be handled by external hardware when the application returns energy to the DC bus. Because the design omits connector set 1, connector set 2, and any plug-in module, all field wiring terminates on screw clamps that are integrated into the base hardware. This direct connection method keeps the wiring layout straightforward and avoids the need for additional plug-in accessories on the drive body.
