The 5P62:J0NRED-01-A is an industrial controller chassis produced by B&R Automation and supplied under the 5PC Industrial Automation Units series. Designed as the central node of a machine control system, it houses processing electronics, fieldbus interfaces, and removable storage so that motion, I/O, and visualization tasks can be executed from a single enclosure. Within a cabinet, the unit coordinates PLC logic, network traffic, and local data buffering for automated assembly lines, packaging cells, and other discrete-manufacturing equipment.

Its power rail accepts 24 VDC (±25%) and regulates a continuous 5 A draw, while the momentary inrush is limited to 40 A for less than 300 µs. The backplane exposes 5 PCI slots on a 32-bit bus clocked at 33 MHz to accept motion cards and specialized I/O, and two slide-in drives provide additional mass storage beside a single Type I CompactFlash socket. Networking is handled by two RJ45 ports that exchange user data at up to 100 Mbit/s, and peripheral access is provided through 2 USB ports that comply with USB 2.0. Legacy devices can be attached through twin RS232 channels that support 115 kbit/s. This layout combines expansion capacity, removable media, and common service connections in one cabinet-mounted controller.

For cabinet integration, the unit offers an IP20 housing that is intended for clean, closed electrical enclosures. During machine vibration and hammer tests, it withstands mechanical shocks up to 15 g for 11 ms without loss of data, and a capacitor-based reserve secures volatile memory for 10 ms after an input power drop. Operator displays can be wired directly through a DVI-I female interface, eliminating the need for an add-on graphics card. The memory reserve helps the controller remain stable during brief power interruptions, while the display output supports direct connection to compatible operator screens.
