KL9250 by Beckhoff

The KL9250 power feed terminal is manufactured by Beckhoff within the KL Analog Input Modules series. It is inserted at any point in a Bus Terminal strand where a fresh supply branch is required, bringing fused mains power to the right-hand side modules. This function allows machine builders to segment control circuits, limit fault propagation, and maintain continuous data flow along the internal K-bus.

The terminal accepts a nominal supply of 120/230 V AC, so it can be connected directly to common single-phase industrial mains. An internal glass fuse rated at 6.3 A limits downstream current, while the copper power contact can carry up to 10 A without overheating. The plastic enclosure measures 12 mm x 100 mm x 70 mm, making it the same footprint as standard signal terminals, and it weighs only 55g, which minimizes load on the DIN rail. With one additional power contact, the module feeds the adjacent terminals without external jumpers and keeps control voltage separated from the K-bus data lines.

Environmental ratings define where the feed terminal can be installed. It operates between 0 °C and 55 °C, so it can be mounted in most control cabinets without auxiliary heating or cooling. For inventory or shipment the housing withstands storage temperatures from -25 °C up to 85 °C without mechanical deformation or loss of insulation strength. Because the K-bus is looped through, diagnostic and configuration data continue past the KL9250 even when the supply circuit is isolated by its fuse. This design allows maintenance personnel to replace right-side terminals live, provided the branch has been de-energized with the removable fuse, while system communication for the remaining slices stays intact.
