KL9060 by Beckhoff

The KL9060 is a supply terminal manufactured by Beckhoff as part of the KL Analog Input Modules series. Within a DIN-rail Bus Terminal assembly, it links the system coupler to downstream modules and passes both control and auxiliary voltages. This arrangement allows sensors and actuators to share a common source without requiring separate external wiring for each module. The terminal also maintains the internal communication line used by Beckhoff controllers in industrial automation cells.

The terminal injects the K-bus logic rail at 5 VDC, and its internal conductors can deliver up to 2000 mA to neighboring electronic modules. This capacity supplies logic power to the analog converters and digital interfaces installed after it on the rail. Separate copper contacts route a field supply of 24 VDC, allowing actuators to receive the higher load voltage while the logic side remains isolated. The housing has a width of 35 mm and mounts on a standard TS35 rail, leaving room for adjacent terminals within the assembly. Its enclosure meets IP20, providing protection against finger contact while requiring installation inside a suitable control cabinet.

The housing permits a variable installation position, which supports rail orientations selected to accommodate available space and airflow. The power comb supports 10 power terminals, maintaining voltage distribution across a connected group of I/O cards. The same segment can accommodate up to 10 contactors without exceeding its intended capacity. Load current on the power contacts may reach 1400 mA, providing power for sensor excitation or relay coils connected through the terminal stack. Conformal-coated circuit boards tolerate ambient moisture levels up to 95% relative humidity. The terminal can therefore operate in humid production areas when the installation prevents condensation from forming inside the enclosure.
