The KL1712-0060 is a compact digital input terminal manufactured by Beckhoff. It installs on a standard Bus Terminal rail, where the Beckhoff I/O system gathers field signals for processing by a PLC or industrial PC. The input circuits accept compatible sensor signals and transfer their states to the internal process image, allowing higher-level logic to evaluate limit switches, contacts, and machine conditions without separate interface blocks. Its narrow housing supports dense control cabinet layouts while retaining the modular installation and maintenance features of the Bus Terminal system.

The module operates from a nominal field supply of 60 VDC, allowing it to connect directly to sensor circuits that use this voltage. Its housing provides status LEDs for viewing input activity and connection points for field wiring. A depth of 70 mm and a height of 100 mm allow the terminal to remain aligned with adjacent modules inside compact enclosures.
