The IP4132-B310-0000 is an IP-rated analog output module manufactured by Beckhoff for the IP Compact Box Units series. It places four independent voltage channels close to motors, valves, or positioning stages and exchanges data with the higher-level PLC through a PROFIBUS fieldbus link. Because the housing can be installed in any orientation and is sealed against dust and water, the unit simplifies decentralized control where cabinet-free wiring is preferred in industrial automation.

The module offers 4 channels, each capable of sourcing or sinking signals across a programmable span of -10 V or 0 to 10 V. A digital-to-analog converter with a 16-bit resolution provides 65,536 discrete steps across that span, allowing small setpoint changes to be transmitted without noticeable quantization. The conversion stage refreshes all outputs in less than 4 ms, supporting motion loops that require a fast response. In the controller's process image, the device occupies 4 × 16-bit data words plus 4 × 8-bit control and status fields, so cyclic communication carries complete output words and diagnostic flags in one frame. Each channel maintains a load impedance above 5 k? and receives power from the common UP load voltage. This arrangement avoids the need for separate actuator supplies while keeping the signal ground isolated from the PROFIBUS side.

The cast-metal enclosure meets the ingress protection ratings of IP65, IP66, and IP67, allowing washdown or outdoor installation without additional covers. Bus connectivity uses PROFIBUS-coded plugs, while the supply loop is daisy-chained through one four-pin M8 connector and one four-pin M8 socket to pass 24 V and ground to the next box. Each voltage output is routed through a sealed M12 screw-in port that accepts standard field cables. The control circuitry is galvanically isolated from the bus, which helps prevent disturbances on the fieldbus from affecting the output electronics. The channels do not have inter-channel isolation, allowing the module to maintain a compact design for clustered drive or valve terminals.
