Communication with the control system takes place over PROFIBUS, and the bus line passes through an integrated T-connector built into the housing, so no separate coupler is required. All circuitry is powered from a single 24 VDC supply delivered through a four-pin M8 power feed. Each output can source up to 0.5 A per channel, while the internal electronics draw only 20 mA per point, keeping heat dissipation low. The module exchanges an 8-bit output process image with the controller, enabling byte-aligned channel mapping. Galvanic separation between the fieldbus and power circuits protects the controller from ground potential shifts, while reverse-polarity protection helps prevent damage if the supply is wired incorrectly.

The outputs terminate at compact M8 screw-in sockets and are individually identified by status LEDs. The enclosure has an IP65/IP66/IP67 protection rating, allowing exposure to dust, cutting fluids, and washdown spray in open machines. If a short circuit occurs, the integrated protection circuitry limits the fault current to 1.5 A, isolates the affected channel, and reports the error through bus diagnostics. This response prevents a channel fault from causing the entire supply to collapse and allows the remaining outputs to continue operating when permitted by the control system.
