The EPP2817-0008 is a Beckhoff output module that belongs to the EPP EtherCAT P Box Modules series. It provides decentralized digital outputs for industrial automation systems, allowing actuators to be driven directly on the machine without additional protective enclosures. By combining the power supply and fieldbus communication in one system, the device streamlines wiring and supports modular layouts in conveyors, assembly stations, and material-handling equipment.

For operation in demanding conditions, the housing carries an ingress protection rating of IP67, which seals the electronics against dust and temporary water immersion. Communication and power are transferred over the single-cable EtherCAT P interface, so one trunk energizes the electronics and transports deterministic telegrams. The built-in Distributed Clocks feature provides synchronized timing across the network. The module has 24 push-pull output channels, and each channel can deliver up to 0.5 A while the collective load remains within 3 A. The outputs have short-circuit protection, and integrated diagnostics monitor supply undervoltage, short circuits, and short-term overloads. Signal wiring terminates on one 25-pin D-sub connector with pins 1 through 12 assigned to outputs, pin 13 assigned to ground, and pins 14 through 25 assigned to outputs. This compact connection provides a shared interface for all channels without requiring separate plugs for each output. Mechanical endurance includes 1,000 shocks per direction at 35 g for 11 ms, allowing the module to tolerate repeated impacts on moving machinery. It also withstands 10 vibration sweeps from 5 to 500 Hz at 0.35 mm or 5 g, supporting operation on moving gantries, presses, and similar equipment. Bright signal-group LEDs provide immediate visual feedback about output switching states and detected faults.
