EL9550 by Beckhoff

The EL9550 is a supply and filter terminal developed by Beckhoff for the EL EtherCAT Terminals series. In an automation cabinet, it replenishes 24 V direct-current power at an EtherCAT I/O segment to support downstream sensors and actuators. Integrated supply filtering shields the bus from conducted noise that could interfere with connected equipment.

The terminal operates at a nominal system voltage of 24 V DC and can carry a maximum field current of 10 A, providing enough capacity for sizable valve banks or stepper controllers on the same rail. The spring-cage contacts provide eight terminal points, allowing separate loads and return paths to be wired without external distribution blocks. The housing meets the IP20 protection class, making it suitable for enclosed control cabinets where protection against direct contact is required. Mechanical fastening follows the 35 mm EN 60715 mounting rail profile, allowing the terminal to snap onto a standard DIN rail in any available slot. A built-in field supply filter attenuates conducted noise before it reaches adjacent I/O modules, while a parallel system supply filter performs the same function for the logic bus.

The design includes an enhanced load capacity that helps prevent voltage drops when several outputs switch simultaneously during mixed-duty machine cycles. Its renewed 24 V infeed capability allows fresh power to be introduced at strategic points along long terminal chains. Compliance with EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 supports electromagnetic immunity and controlled emissions in industrial environments. Shock and vibration resistance follow EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27, allowing the housing to withstand panel resonance and transport stresses. The installation position is variable, so the device can be mounted horizontally or vertically without derating. Its electromagnetic compatibility and vibration performance remain valid in either orientation.
