EL9200 by Beckhoff

The EL9200 is a 24 V power distribution terminal from Beckhoff that belongs to the EL EtherCAT Terminals series. Within an EtherCAT I/O segment, this module supplies voltage to downstream terminals while passing E-bus communication signals through the segment. The device occupies one 12 mm slot on the DIN rail and includes diagnostic LEDs that allow power integrity to be checked without removing field wiring. Its compact housing allows power distribution and communication continuity to be maintained within the same terminal assembly.

The terminal operates from a nominal bus voltage of 24 VDC and can supply up to 10 A of load current to attached modules. A replaceable fuse rated at 6.3 A limits branch faults, and its fine-wire fuse element interrupts overcurrent conditions without damaging the holder. Protection against accidental contact is provided by the enclosure's IP20 rating, making the terminal suitable for installation in closed control cabinets. A Power LED confirms that the supply is present, while a separate Error LED illuminates if the internal fuse opens. Integrated fuse diagnostics also report an open-fuse condition over the fieldbus, allowing the control system to identify the fault remotely. The terminal includes a protective earth contact for grounding connected equipment. One additional power contact routes the 24 V feed through the connector block while keeping the wiring compact. The terminal supports horizontal or vertical mounting without derating, allowing its orientation to match the available cabinet space. It does not require a dedicated rail connection, which reduces the number of separate conductors needed at the terminal.

Mechanical mounting uses a 35 mm DIN rail, and a spring clip locks the housing securely in place. The terminal can operate at a relative humidity of up to 95% RH when condensation is prevented inside the cabinet. The E-bus lines are looped through, so EtherCAT process data continues across the segment when the power distribution terminal is inserted. This pass-through arrangement allows the module to distribute supply power without interrupting communication between adjacent terminals.
