EL9150 by Beckhoff

The EL9150 is a single-phase power supply EtherCAT terminal produced by Beckhoff for the EL EtherCAT Terminals series. Acting as a feed-in module, it routes mains potential to the power contacts of an EtherCAT segment so downstream terminals receive field voltage without separate wiring. Inside a control cabinet, the unit occupies one terminal width and installs beside I/O, motion, or safety terminals that draw operating power directly from the shared bus.

As an infeed module, the EL9150 has one additional power contact that passes line voltage to subsequent terminals. This path is rated for up to 10 A, enabling several loads to be supplied without exceeding the copper cross-section of the system rail. The supply input accepts 230 VAC or 120 VAC, allowing the same hardware to accommodate both European and North American mains. The terminal snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail, but it makes no electrical connection to the metal rail, preserving galvanic isolation. The housing is classified as IP20, limiting use to enclosed control panels where protection against contact with fingers or large tools is required, but complete environmental sealing is unnecessary.

For bus continuity, the internal signal lines are looped through the E-bus, allowing network communication to continue past the supply point without jumpers. The module can be used at elevations up to 2000 m above sea level, and its insulation system meets overvoltage category II, making it suitable for equipment connected to fixed building circuits. A protective earth conductor is present, and the energized state is indicated by the illuminated power LED on the front panel. The module does not include an onboard diagnostic function. Its additional infeed capability allows a separate external voltage to be introduced when terminal groups require isolated power distribution.
