The CX8000 Embedded PC Series by Beckhoff features devices equipped with a 32-bit ARM-based processor. These fanless units operate with low electrical power consumption and are versatile for processing PLC programs or serving as slave devices for fieldbus systems. CX8000 devices utilize an Ethernet interface for connecting to regular networks. Microsoft Windows Embedded CE serves as the operating system for this series, with TwinCAT 2 software used for system configuration and PLC programming. Each CX8000 device includes an integrated capacitive 1-second UPS, providing energy backup in case of supply voltage failure.
