CX5130-0130-1001 by Beckhoff

The CX5130-0130-1001 embedded PC is manufactured by Beckhoff as part of the CX Embedded PC Systems series. Built for DIN-rail mounting, it consolidates PLC logic, motion control, and visualization functions inside a 142 × 100 × 92 mm housing, letting machine designers replace separate controllers with a single compact module. Direct compatibility with EtherCAT Terminals and other fieldbus couplers allows the unit to serve as the central node in conveyor lines, HVAC plants, or packaging machines that demand deterministic cycle times.

Processing tasks are handled by an Intel Atom E3827 that operates at 1.75 GHz. The chip provides 2 cores, so multitasking environments such as TwinCAT runtime and Windows Embedded can run concurrently without external coprocessors. System data, program code, and cyclical variables reside in 4 GB DDR3-RAM, a capacity sized for mid-range motion sequences and HMI graphics. On-chip graphics are provided by Intel HD Graphics, which shares 256 MB of system memory to drive local displays or remote desktops over Ethernet. Two gigabit RJ45 ports support segmented network topologies and fail-safe ring structures. Four USB 2.0 interfaces deliver 500 mA each for storage devices, scanners, or wireless adapters.

The device accepts a regulated 24 V DC supply with a -15% to +20% tolerance. Continuous operation draws only 14 W, and the internal UPS charging circuit raises demand to 20 W when the 1 MB CFast-based backup is replenishing. Control cabinets that rely on safety isolation benefit from the unit's 500 V dielectric strength between the power supply and electronics. Anodized aluminum cooling fins keep temperatures stable without fans. The side panels provide toolless access to the CFast slot, battery holder, and microSD expansion.
