The CP2912-0010 is an operator terminal produced by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. Intended for machine-level human-machine interaction, it combines a display, processing electronics, and touch input in a single enclosure, allowing operators to view and adjust process parameters directly on the factory floor. Its sealed glass front and slim rear section allow the unit to function as the primary interface between PLC software and plant personnel in industrial automation.

Communication with a remote control cabinet is handled through a CP-Link interface that terminates at an RJ45 port; this single cable transports video, USB, and power signals. The link supports panel placement up to 100 m from the host industrial PC without signal boosters, and its dedicated USB channel sustains data rates of 100 Mbit/s, allowing local peripherals such as scanners or memory sticks to operate transparently. Operation on the plant floor is aided by a glass front with an IP65 ingress protection rating, shielding the display against dust and low-pressure water jets. The electronics are seated in an aluminum rear housing, which acts as a heat sink while keeping the overall weight at 3.0 kg. Two rear USB 2.0 ports provide service access, and the rear has IP20 protection when the panel is mounted inside a switchgear door.

The unit tolerates ambient moisture up to 95% relative humidity without condensation, and a shock rating of 5 G covers incidental impacts during door closure or transport. A nominal supply of 24 VDC feeds the electronics through a five-pin voltage socket. Conductors up to 1.5 mm² can be clamped, and the mating plug is rated for 16 A, allowing the wiring to carry inrush current safely. Separation between the sealed front and the ventilated rear allows the enclosure requirements for the machine face and cabinet interior to be met independently.
