The C6240-1052-0040 is an industrial PC assembled by Beckhoff for the C6 Industrial PC Units series. As a control-class computer, it hosts PLC runtimes, HMI servers, and data-logging tasks that coordinate motion and process sequences on the plant floor. Its rack-mount housing and DIN-compliant power connector allow machine builders to install computing resources directly in electrical enclosures without additional adapters.
The aluminum chassis is rated at IP20, so it is intended for clean cabinet spaces rather than exposed production areas. Two Gigabit interfaces follow the 10/100/1000BASE-T standard, and the Ethernet ports can be assigned to separate machine networks. The chassis has a depth of 274 mm, leaving room for airflow behind the unit when it is mounted against a back panel. Four USB 2.0 receptacles provide front access for service keys, input devices, or image backups. Legacy connections include one DisplayPort, two DVI-D sockets, two PS/2 connectors, and one RS-232 serial channel. Five dedicated power contacts and a minimum wire cross section of 1.5 mm² support secure 24 V DC supply wiring, while contact spacing of 5 mm maintains suitable creepage distance inside the plug.
The enclosure measures 430 mm wide and 170 mm high, allowing it to fit 19-inch cabinet rails while leaving space for neighboring modules. The motherboard provides seven internal slots for processors, memory, or interface cards selected according to the application's processing and connectivity requirements. Operating humidity can reach 95% without condensation, supporting use in control rooms that do not have strict humidity regulation. The rack format also keeps external display, network, peripheral, and power connections accessible from the enclosure's installation area.
