C6150 by Beckhoff

The C6150 is an industrial PC manufactured by Beckhoff and supplied as part of the C6 Industrial PC Units series. This cabinet-mounted computer hosts machine-control software for deterministic sequencing, data logging, visualization, and other automation tasks. It communicates with field I/O, drives, and safety devices over EtherCAT or other real-time networks, allowing multiple control functions to operate on a single platform inside automated equipment. Its enclosure is designed for installation within an electrical cabinet, where the computer remains protected by the surrounding panel and can connect directly to other control components.

The housing measures 423 mm high, 383 mm wide, and 265 mm deep, allowing the computer to fit inside standard electrical enclosures without occupying an entire rack. Power consumption is limited to 100 W, which helps reduce the internal heat load and permits the use of fan-assisted panel cooling rather than dedicated air conditioning. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, providing protection against accidental finger contact but no sealing against dust or liquids. It is therefore intended for clean and dry cabinet interiors. Lightweight access panels simplify installation and provide convenient access to internal components. The unit tolerates continuous vibration of 0.5 G at an amplitude of 0.035 mm, helping maintain secure connections during normal machine operation. It also withstands shock events lasting up to 30 ms during transportation or operation in equipment frames.

The computer remains functional at ambient temperatures from 0 °C to 55 °C, allowing operation in many machine rooms with ordinary cabinet ventilation. Storage temperatures may range from -20 °C to 65 °C when the unit is not operating. Relative humidity may reach 95% without condensation, supporting use in humid climates when the cabinet includes appropriate moisture-control measures. The chassis has a mass of 15 kg, providing a rigid structure while remaining manageable during cabinet installation and internal access. Card retainers secure installed components and withstand shocks of up to 5 G during handling or operation near machinery that produces intermittent impacts. The combination of temperature tolerance, humidity resistance, and mechanical stability supports continuous use in enclosed industrial control systems.
