C6110 by Beckhoff

The C6110 is an industrial PC manufactured by Beckhoff and supplied under the C6 Industrial PC Units series. It serves as a control platform that hosts real-time operating systems and motion software for machine automation. PLC logic, HMI functions, and data handling can run on a single hardware node inside the electrical cabinet, reducing the number of separate control devices required in the installation.

Basic power consumption is 100 W, so cabinet power supplies must reserve this continuous load. Two Ethernet connections are provided through 2 RJ-45 ports, enabling segmented networks or redundant links. Legacy equipment can still be attached because the housing includes 2 serial ports that operate on the RS-232 standard. Operator panels, flash drives, or service tools connect to three USB sockets that support USB 2.0. A single DVI-I output supports digital or analog monitors for local visualization. The removable power plug has five contacts with 5 mm spacing, providing suitable clearance for safe wiring. These interface resources support midrange control tasks that require network communication, peripheral access, serial device integration, and a local display connection.

The enclosure meets the IP20 protection class, making it suitable for dry, enclosed switchgear spaces. Its footprint is controlled by a width of 180 mm and a depth of 250 mm, while its overall height reaches 287 mm. These dimensions allow vertical mounting beside standard DIN-rail devices within an electrical cabinet. The system weighs 7 kg, allowing direct panel fastening without additional bracing. Power conductors must have a cross-sectional area of 1.5 mm², equivalent to 16 AWG, to fit the spring terminals and carry the rated load. The connector arrangement also supports effective strain relief while maintaining appropriate creepage distances for low-voltage wiring. Adequate mounting clearance should be maintained around the enclosure so its ports, removable power plug, and connected cables remain accessible during normal operation and maintenance.
