Beckhoff manufactures the AM3063-0M40-0000, a synchronous servo motor in the AM Synchronous Servo Motors series. This model delivers controlled torque and position regulation for axes in packaging lines, assembly stations, and material handling cells. It combines precise rotor feedback with compact dimensions to support dynamic closed-loop motion tasks in industrial automation environments. The motor is intended for applications that require repeatable acceleration, accurate stopping, and stable speed control. When paired with a compatible drive, it supports precise motion on automated axes that cycle frequently during production.
The motor fastens to the machine frame through a 142 mm flange, providing a standardized centering surface for rigid alignment. Power and signal lines exit through a rotatable angular connector or terminal box, so cabling can be turned to match cabinet layouts and reduce strain. Rotor position is measured by a Hiperface multi-turn 128 SinCos encoder from F6, giving high-resolution absolute data across multiple revolutions for precise drive control. Absolute multi-turn feedback allows the controller to retain position information over several turns without depending only on incremental counting. Because the unit is supplied without a holding brake, any static load must be secured by the drive or by external clamps when power is removed. The electromagnetic design uses winding code M, which corresponds to the rated voltage, current, and speed pairing used with compatible drive amplifiers.
Within Beckhoff's Synchronous Servomotors portfolio, the AM3063 follows the Standard mechanical class, so its housing dimensions and protective features match the baseline layout used in this motor family. An overall length code of 3 gives the motor a compact axial form for installations with limited space. The smooth shaft allows friction-fit couplings to be positioned at any angular orientation without key backlash. This shaft style is suited to clamping hubs that rely on surface contact instead of a keyed connection. The shorter body can also help where motor length affects guard spacing, carriage travel, or nearby machine components.
